I know, I bet you didn't think I could dedicate an entire post to strawberries (more commonly known as Frutillas here) but here goes nothing. Strawberries are back and they're badder than ever. They are big, red, juicy and delicious and get this: They are six pesos a kilo. For those of you who aren't familiar with the metric system, that's six pesos for 2.2 pounds of strawberries. For those of you not familiar with the peso dollar conversion, that's 2.2 pounds of strawberries for less than $1.60. Even I can't believe it and I've been eating them by the kilo. In fact I just finished a big bowl of them as I wrote this post...I think I'll go get some more!!
